We are thrilled to welcome three talented first-year attorneys to the firm: Kyle James, Sarah LeFevre, and Angela Sheppard. All three previously worked at the firm as summer associates and return to Gallagher & Kennedy after graduating from law school in May. Their admission to the Bar is pending admittance this October.
Kyle B. James will primarily focus on various types of litigation, including commercial disputes and employment law. During law school, Kyle worked as a 2024 Summer Associate at Gallagher & Kennedy and earned a judicial internship with the Honorable John C. Hinderaker of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona in Tucson. At U of A, Kyle served as Board Member and Note Editor for the Arizona Law Review, and earned the Dean’s Achievement Scholarship, the David A. Paige Scholarship, and the Award for Outstanding Performance in Oral Advocacy. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for two years for the Legal Writing and Senior Writing courses.
Before law school, Kyle worked at the White House in the Office of Presidential Correspondence, first as a summer intern and then for two years as Director of Digital Response.
Kyle earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and his B.A. summa cum laude in Political Science and Government from Southern Virginia University.
Sarah R. LeFevre will focus on various types of litigation, including employment law, estate planning and probate, and commercial disputes. During law school, Sarah worked as a summer associate at Gallagher & Kennedy in 2023 and 2024, earned a judicial externship with Judge Jennifer M. Perkins of the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division I, and later externed with the Arizona Supreme Court Staff Attorneys’ Office, researching and drafting recommendations on Petitions for Review. At ASU, Sarah served as a Managing Editor and Staff Writer of the Arizona State Law Journal, a Teaching Assistant for Professional Responsibility, an Academic Success Program Legal Tutor, a Research Assistant for Professor Susan McMahon, and served as a Rule 39 Certified Limited Practice Student in ASU’s Indian Legal Clinic. Sarah also volunteered on the Women Law Students’ Association Fundraising Committee.
Sarah earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and her B.A. magna cum laude in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law; Minors in Economics and Government & Public Policy from the University of Arizona’s W.A. Franke Honors College.
Angela L. Sheppard will practice primarily in various areas of litigation, including commercial disputes, employment law, and catastrophic personal injury. During law school, Angela worked at G&K as a 2024 Summer Associate, and earned a coveted judicial externship with Senior Judge James Teilborg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, gaining first-hand experience in federal court procedures and judicial decision-making, solidifying her passion for litigation.
Before law school, Angela worked as a senior litigation paralegal and paralegal office manager, managing a high-volume caseload.
Angela earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and her B.A. summa cum laude in Philosophy and Theology, minor in Human Life Studies from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio.
