Gallagher & Kennedy is proud to congratulate Kyle James, a 2024 G&K Summer Associate and incoming 2025 Fall Associate, on his recent recognition as a winner in the Richard Grand Legal Writing Competition at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
Named in honor of the late Richard Grand—a legendary trial lawyer and master storyteller—the annual competition celebrates excellence in legal writing and narrative skill. This year’s event honored four talented 3Ls whose essays stood out among an impressive field of entries. Kyle earned a distinguished third-place award, showcasing the clarity, insight, and professionalism that made him a standout during his time with us last summer.
We were thrilled—though not surprised—to see Kyle recognized among Arizona’s top law students. His thoughtful writing, commitment to advocacy, and strong work ethic reflect the best of what’s ahead for the legal profession.
We look forward to welcoming Kyle back to G&K this September as he begins his legal career. Congratulations, Kyle, on this well-deserved achievement!
