More Than $15,000 Raised for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

GALLAGHER & KENNEDY RAISES OVER $15,500 FOR SUSAN G. KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE

PHOENIX (October 26, 2011) – Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A., a full service business law firm, announced today that the firm’s employees have made a substantial contribution to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In a series of fundraising events over the course of one week, Gallagher & Kennedy raised $15,550. Over the past nine years, the firm has donated more than $171,000 to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Each year, the law firm organizes a week’s worth of events to collect donations from employees, family, and friends. The events of the week are concluded by the charity’s largest fundraising day, the Susan G. Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure. This year, the firm’s week of events included:
  • Denim/Passionately Pink for the Cure Day – For a $5 donation, employees could wear blue denim jeans and their favorite pink shirt or Race for the Cure t-shirt to show their support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
  • Delectable and Online Auctions – Donations were raised from online auctions of homemade delectable and sporting event tickets.
  • Potluck and Raffle - The firm organized a companywide potluck. Monies raised from the raffles items and entrance fee to the potluck were donated to Komen.
  • 2011 Susan G. Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure – Gallagher & Kennedy staff signed up to walk, run and sleep-in for this year's Race for the Cure on Sunday, October 9th in Downtown Phoenix. Gallagher & Kennedy generously paid the registration fees for all employees who registered for the race.
