Hannah H. Porter
Shareholder

Hannah focuses her practice primarily in civil litigation, representing clients in a wide variety of disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, trade secrets, business ownership disputes, class actions, and bid protests for government contracts. She has handled matters at all stages of litigation, including through trial and appeal, in both state and federal courts.

Hannah H. Porter

Hannah joined G&K immediately after a one-year judicial clerkship for Justice Robert M. Brutinel of the Arizona Supreme Court where she discovered her passion for litigation and appellate work. Her time spent “behind-the-scenes” gave her a unique insight into a judge’s perspective and concerns that she applies every day in her own practice.

Civil Litigation

Hannah has more than a decade of experience handling complex commercial litigation matters. Hannah also has extensive experience with disputes involving public records, administrative appeals, and challenges to state legislation. For example, Hannah successfully defended a constitutional challenge to Arizona’s wine statutes.

Appeals

Hannah has represented clients on appeal before administrative law judges, Arizona’s appellate courts, and the Ninth Circuit. As an example, Hannah was part of the G&K team that successfully challenged on appeal the constitutionality of Arizona’s bail bond scheme for certain types of offenders.

Public Bidding & Procurement

Hannah works with companies bidding for government contracts, both protesting and defending contract awards at the city and state levels in Arizona.

Class Actions

Hannah’s class action work focuses primarily on the defense side. For example, Hannah defeated a motion for class certification in a case alleging violation of CCRs by an electric cooperative.

Criminal Defense

In addition to her civil litigation practice, Hannah often works with the G&K Criminal Team on criminal defense matters involving white-collar crimes and appeals. She served as second chair in a month-long federal criminal bribery trial, which resulted in dismissal of all charges against the client.
