Otto Shill Appointed to Arizona Property Tax Oversight Commission

His appointment, effective January 21, 2025, was confirmed by the leadership of the Arizona House of Representatives and Senate under statutory authority outlined in A.R.S. 42-17002 and related provisions.

The Property Tax Oversight Commission plays a crucial role in maintaining public confidence in property tax limitations, ensuring uniform methodology in determining primary property tax limits, and reviewing practices to promote fair and equitable administration of tax laws. As a member of the Commission, Otto will contribute to key responsibilities, including reviewing tax levy limits, assessing valuation accuracy reports, and making recommendations to the Governor, the Department of Revenue, and the Legislature.

Joining other esteemed members such as Kevin McCarthy, President of the Arizona Tax Research Association, and Robert Woods, Agency Director of the Department of Revenue, Otto's appointment reflects his deep expertise in state and local tax laws and commitment to Arizona’s tax policy and governance.
