Bloomfield: State Wrongly Took $600,000 From City

City Council votes to re-enter earlier lawsuit

Numerous municipal entities have filed a tax dispute suit in District Court against the State of New Mexico regarding the withholding and distribution of tax revenues. Gallagher & Kennedy has been representing the cities, and after Bloomfield left the lawsuit, the city of Albuquerque joined and negotiated a contingency agreement with our clients.

Farmington Daily Times reporter Hannah Grover writes, "Bloomfield officials say the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department has wrongfully taken about $600,000 from the city, so they're going to court along with a coalition of other aggrieved cities to try to get some of that cash back."
