Kevin Neal Wins Patent Infringement Case in Federal Court

In his second big trial win in California courts this year, Kevin Neal obtained a defense verdict in a complex patent infringement case in Federal Court in Los Angeles, California.

In September 2023, Kevin was asked to co-counsel this case with Los Angeles attorney Guy Ruttenberg of Ruttenberg IP Law. Although originally scheduled for a jury trial, the parties agreed to a bench trial. The case was tried the week of October 23, 2023.

On December 11, 2023, U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Judge Christina A. Snyder issued her Order and found in favor of Kevin’s client. The result is a huge win in a complex case involving millions of dollars over various claims and attorney’s fees. Other issues remain to be litigated, but the court issued its decision on the main financial component of the case as it dealt with the allegation of “willfulness.”

Kevin was trial counsel with Los Angeles attorney Guy Ruttenberg of Ruttenberg IP Law. The other party was represented by Ben Davidson of the Davidson Law Group in Calabasas, California, and David Long of ErgoniQ out of McLean, Virginia.
