On November 18, G&K shareholder Woody Thompson attended the ASU College of Law Mixer to celebrate the third year of the JSV Memorial Scholarship, created in loving memory of our dear friend and colleague, Jay Volquardsen.
Jay graduated from ASU law school in 2000 and ASU's school of engineering in 1997. After Jay's untimely passing in 2021, his family and friends banded together to fund and award a scholarship in Jay's name to one ASU law student each year.
Jay and Woody operated their own criminal defense firm, Thompson & Volquardsen, for 10 years before joining the G&K team in 2015. We are proud to support this scholarship and Jay's legacy, including through the annual JSV Memorial Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026.
