During law school, Serafina earned a Judicial Externship with the Honorable Judge Gerald Baca at the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where she gained valuable courtroom experience, including an appreciation for the work required to form a judicial opinion. She also worked as a summer law clerk for an Albuquerque law firm, where she developed a deeper understanding of civil litigation and the rules of civil procedure in New Mexico and Texas.
Serafina worked as a legal extern at the New Mexico Environmental Department, researching issues related to environmental law, creating legal guidelines for departments to appraise federal funding opportunities, and collaborating with attorneys to assist in researching subject-matter jurisdiction regarding waterways and nuclear waste management.
Born and raised in Santa Fe, Serafina enjoys exploring her beautiful surroundings with her Westie, gardening, finishing challenging cross-word puzzles, reading fiction, painting custom pet portraits, and traveling internationally.
