In Memoriam

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our partner and colleague, Tom Arendt, on Friday, December 12.

Tom joined Gallagher & Kennedy in 2023 from Jennings Strouss. His exceptional legal career spanned four decades, with an early focus on commercial real estate law, particularly in acquisition, development, and leasing. His expertise earned him the State Bar’s “Certified Real Estate Specialist” endorsement, a position on the State Bar’s Real Estate Advisory Commission, and the trust of many long-term, nationally-recognized clients.

He loved being an attorney, had a brilliant mind, was a perfectionist, and gave his all for each and every one of his clients.

An Arizona native, Tom earned his law degree cum laude from Arizona State University and undergraduate degree with high distinction from the University of Arizona. He graduated from Arcadia High School in Scottsdale, and thoroughly enjoyed attending reunions—most recently his 50^th—and meeting up with classmates.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shari; his daughter, Elizabeth, and son, John, both of whom he was extremely proud of; his mother; three brothers; a sister; a granddaughter; and his three Golden Retrievers.

At this time, no services are planned. We will provide more information should the family schedule a public gathering in Tom’s honor.
