G&K Expands Securities Practice, Adding Three Attorneys with Public Company Experience

The law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy announced today that it has expanded its securities practice with the addition of Stephen R. Boatwright, Alicia M. Corbett and Daniel A. DeChesaro to the firm.

“With the addition of these three experienced attorneys, we are well positioned to effectively serve the growing number of companies in our market that are raising capital and making acquisitions in both the public and private sectors,” said Gallagher & Kennedy co-founder Michael K. Kennedy.

Mr. Boatwright joins the firm as a shareholder, bringing 25 years of experience in corporate, securities and mergers and acquisitions laws. He advises both private and public companies in need of legal guidance on regulatory compliance, public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, entity and fund formations, capital financing requirements and angel investments. He has represented clients requiring capital in diverse industries, including technology, biotechnology, internet, software, life sciences and medical equipment, among others.

Mr. Boatwright is a member of the Arizona State Bar Association and received the Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent Rating. He earned his J.D. and M.B.A from the University of Texas at Austin and his B.A., with honors, from Wheaton College.

As Of Counsel, Ms. Corbett focuses her practice on securities, corporate and intellectual property compliance and transactions. In her public securities practice, she understands the unique needs of smaller public companies, whether they need assistance complying with reporting requirements or raising capital. Ms. Corbett’s background in microbiology and admission to the patent bar provides her with valuable insight into the intersection of law and science for medical technology, healthcare and life sciences clients.

Ms. Corbett is a member of the Arizona State Bar and the American Bar Association, including its Business and Health Law sections. She was recognized as a 2014 Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star. She earned her J.D. from Duke University and her B.S., magna cum laude, from Arizona State University.

As Of Counsel, Mr. DeChesaro focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and securities, assisting private and public companies with mergers, acquisitions, commercial financing, corporate governance, contract negotiation, joint ventures, securities and entity formation. He brings unique in-house legal experience and perspective to his clients having previously served as general counsel for Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation.

Mr. DeChesaro is a member of the Arizona State Bar and is a certified adjunct professor at Maricopa Community Colleges. Through appointment by former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, he previously served as a board member on the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners. He earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Arizona and his B.S. from Colorado State University.
