AS NEW SHAREHOLDER IN THE FIRM’S SANTA FE OFFICE

PHOENIX, Ariz. (February 18, 2014) – The law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy announced today the election of Germaine R. Chappelle as a new shareholder in its Santa Fe office.

“Ms. Chappelle’s experience in both the public and private sectors, her technical expertise and her proactive and professional demeanor make her an asset to our firm and clients,” said Dalva Moellenberg, Gallagher & Kennedy shareholder and manager of the firm’s Santa Fe office.

Ms. Chappelle practices utility, environmental and natural resources law. In her practice she assists clients with utility regulation and energy law, environmental due diligence, environmental regulatory enforcement, including federal and state water quality standards, mined land reclamation, Native American natural resources and right-of-way law, federal, state and private land use, oil and gas matters, water rights law and governmental affairs.

Prior to joining Gallagher & Kennedy, Ms. Chappelle served as Chief General Counsel for the New Mexico’s Department of Transportation and then for the New Mexico Department of Public Safety. She began her career in the private sector.

Ms. Chappelle is a native New Mexican with a firm commitment to giving back to her community. She has worked with the Hondo Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years, initially as a firefighter and now as a member of both the Critical Stress Incident Management Team and Auxiliary. She is a board member and vice president for Partners in Education and is vice president of Lambda Alpha International, the Honorary Society for Land Economics.

Ms. Chappelle earned her J.D. in 1999 from the University of New Mexico and her B.A. in 1991 from the College of Wooster.
