Gallagher & Kennedy Associate Tyler Carrell Recognized as
MCBA Outstanding Young Lawyer
PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 9, 2017) – The law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy is pleased to announce that Tyler Carrell has received Maricopa County Bar Association’s (MCBA) inaugural Steven A. Hirsch Outstanding Young Lawyer award. Tyler accepted this honor during MCBA’s 25th Annual Barristers Ball on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
The Steven A. Hirsch Outstanding Young Lawyer award is presented to a young lawyer who embodies the mission of the MCBA’s YLD, which is to serve the community and enrich the legal profession, and has served in a leadership capacity for the group. This inaugural award was named in memory of well-known local attorney Steve Hirsch who passed away in December 2016, a loss deeply felt in the legal community. Steve was a strong supporter of MCBA and particularly devoted to its Young Lawyers Division (YLD). In that regard, the MCBA Board of Directors created this tribute to Steve’s legacy.
A well-deserved honor, Tyler has been a consistent and integral participant in both the State and MCBA YLDs. Tyler is the first attorney in Arizona history to serve concurrent presidencies of both YLDs and during his tenure he was instrumental in raising funds for pro-bono legal services through campaigns such as placement of “Ask a Lawyer” booths at various farmers markets and events like the “Race Judicata” 5K and MCBA’s “Barristers Ball”.
While still holding his dual-presidency, Tyler also served on the State Bar Board of Governors and State Bar Strategic Planning Committee. In January 2016 he was elected to the MCBA Board of Directors and has served on the MCBA Law-Day Committee for two years.
