Busby and Mooney Elected to State Bar Tax Section

TWO GALLAGHER & KENNEDY SHAREHOLDERS ELECTED TO
STATE BAR OF ARIZONA TAX LAW SECTION

PHOENIX (September 6, 2011) – Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A., a full service business law firm, announced today that two shareholders, James G. Busby, Jr. and Kelly C. Mooney have been elected to serve on the 2011-2012 State Bar of Arizona Tax Law Section. James G. Busby, Jr. has been selected the Chair-Elect and Kelly C. Mooney has been elected Budget Officer. Mr. Busby also serves the Section as the Arizona Tax Court Liaison.

The Tax Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona is an executive council and committee chair group elected to promote the field of taxation, maintain an active section membership and provide leadership in the practice of tax law.

The Section does this by improving the education of attorneys and other tax professionals in the laws of taxation; facilitating the development of professional relationships among tax attorneys and other tax professionals; and communicating and encouraging intellectual discussion about recent developments and current issues affecting tax attorneys and other tax professionals.

Prior to joining Gallagher& Kennedy, Mr. Busby served as Chief Auditor and Principal Tax Analyst for the Transaction Privilege (Sales) and Use Tax Division of the Arizona Department of Revenue. He received his M.B.A in 1994 from Arizona State University and received his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University in 1995.

Ms. Mooney practices tax law, with an emphasis on federal taxation of individuals, corporations, partnerships, tax-exempt entities, estates and trusts. She attended the University of Arizona, where she received her J.D., summa cum laude in 2002. Ms. Mooney received an L.L.M in Taxation from the University of San Diego in 2005.
