Gallagher & Kennedy Welcomes Associate Rikki-Lee Chavez to its New Mexico Office

ASSOCIATE RIKKI-LEE CHAVEZ TO ITS NEW MEXICO OFFICE

PHOENIX, Ariz. (June 7, 2017) – The law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy is proud to announce Rikki-Lee Chavez has joined the firm as an associate. Prior to joining the firm, Rikki-Lee had a private practice in Northern New Mexico.  Rikki-Lee’s private practice allowed her to gain experience in government affairs, business management, estate and trust planning, and land and water disputes.  Rikki-Lee also gained experience representing licensed professionals before disciplinary boards in New Mexico, and representing indigent clients in the criminal justice system through a contract with the Law Office of the Public Defender of New Mexico.

Rikki-Lee’s practice with Gallagher & Kennedy is predominately focused in the areas of government affairs and environmental and natural resources law, regulatory and administrative law, and litigation.  She is versed in legislative committee proceedings and has obtained information regarding proposed legislation important to multiple clients’ interests, collaborated with organization members and state legislators to encourage legislative reform, and educated legislators about positive reform in the areas of health care, criminal justice, energy, utilities, oil and gas, tax, and the environment.

Rikki-Lee graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and earned her Bachelors’ of Arts degrees in Journalism and Spanish from the University of New Mexico before law school.  She is a member of the New Mexico State Bar, the Young Lawyers Division, the New Mexico Mining Association, the Association of Commerce and Industry, the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Hispanic Bar of New Mexico.
