Henry Darwin Presents Keynote at 17th Annual EPAZ Conference

Shareholder Henry Darwin will present the Keynote Address at the 17th Annual Environmental Processionals of Arizona (“EPAZ”) Conference on Friday, March 25th.

In his presentation, “Ten Biggest Surprises from My Experience as the Acting EPA Deputy Administrator,” Henry shares the most surprising and challenging issues he encountered while serving as COO and Acting Deputy Administrator for EPA. Henry will also explain the operational, budgetary, and policy-driven differences between leading ADEQ and the EPA, and share insights regarding environmental protection responsibilities between the states and federal government.

Before joining Gallagher & Kennedy, Henry worked in government service for over 25 years and for 10 years in senior executive leadership at state and federal levels. Henry provides clients with an unmatched understanding of state and federal environmental law and agency know-how. As the former Director of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and as the Acting Deputy Administrator and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Henry is known nation-wide for striking the right balance between economic development and environmental protection.
