Information Technology Administrator

The law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy is seeking a full-time Information Technology Administrator.

This full-time exempt position working in the firm’s Information Technology Department will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide and direct administrative management of the IT Department, including but not limited to, review and approve Employee Attendance Records, conduct annual performance evaluations, review applications/resumes for perspective department personnel and conduct interview(s) of same when
    necessary.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, O365, Networking (switching, firewall, wireless, remote access) and Hyper-V/VMware to provide technical lead on IT projects.
  • Analyze security risks and concerns and work with vendors to mitigate those risks and concerns.
  • Oversee monthly and annual security training and enforcement of the firm Information Security
    Policies.
  • Engage with vendors to establish and maintain contractual relationships. Review all contracts and invoices from vendors for IT related services.
  • Serve as liaison and contact person for attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
  • Anticipate needs and provide cost-effective solutions to the information systems and automation requirements of the IT functions of the firm.
  • Meet with attorneys and administrative managers to determine software requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between the Board of Directors and Technology Committee and the IT Department.
  • Evaluate, recommend and procure appropriate hardware and software.
  • Guide the appropriate controls over use, storage and archiving of information.
  • Conduct IT policy reviews.
  • Respond to second level help desk calls as needed.

Planning and Budgeting:

  • Work with Technology Committee in recommending long-range and annual technology plans, develop supporting budgets for all information systems and office automation.
  • Coordinate the execution of project management plans to achieve desired timelines as systems and programs are selected, purchased, installed, enhanced or further developed.

Information Governance:

  • Oversee the ingest of data for new attorneys/clients.
  • Oversee the review and transmittal of client data to other firms as a result of change of counsel.
  • Assist with long term retention of client records from network shares, email accounts, and user profiles as requested and/or when employees depart the firm.
  • Enforce document retention expirations as directed by clients.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
