Mike has focused on complex civil, condemnation, and governmental litigation matters since he first went into practice.  Mike has been lucky enough to participate in litigation that has mirrored the growth of Arizona in remarkable ways over the last forty years.  He also practices personal injury law with an emphasis on medical device and negligence cases, and evidence analysis and depositions in high stakes, complex litigation matters.

  • Litchfield Park prison site case which laid down the fundamental principles of not only the executive power of the governor but rules of “one subject” legislation
  • Litigation over various Maricopa County Flood Control District land acquisition projects
  • Litigation for the wrongful termination of the public defender of Maricopa County by the Board of Supervisors
  • Siting for the Red Mountain Freeway
  • Condemnation of the Kino Boulevard right-of-way through the old Tucson airport in Pima County
  • Acquisition of land for the junction of Loop 101 and Loop 202 in Tempe
  • The coincidence of the recall election of Governor Evan Mecham with his impeachment
  • The constitutional public use and gift-or-subsidy litigation surrounding Bank One Ballpark
  • The change in statewide practices for highway design and safety in potential rockfall hazard locations
  • The shut down an international adoption mill operating out of Arizona and Washington states
